Following an approval for the restoration project from the Turkish Superior Council for the Conservation of Cultural and Natural Property, Pera Palace looked to expert academics and professionals to restore the property to its full grandeur. It was especially important to Pera Palace team to incorporate technical additions characteristics of a leading luxury hotel without infringing upon the original architectural characteristics of the building.
Pera Palace Hotel, classified as a “museum-hotel” aims to offer great service as well as a unique and nostalgic experince, The Pera Palace team also strives to position the Hotel's legacy at the heart of the social and cultural centre of the city, today as it has been in the past.
The architectural conservation of the project was designed by KA.BA Conservation of Historic Buildings and Architecture Ltd and the interior design and remodelling was carried out by the Metex Design Group. The 23 million Euro restoration project began in April 2008 and has completed in September 2010, the year that Istanbul has been marked as the European Capital of Culture.
