my husband and I stayed at the Pera in 1977 and will never forget it. The beautiful elevator, staircase, bar and a room facing the Golden Horn - we could hear the call to prayer while watching the sun set. I can't wait to come back to see the restoration, although I am glad I was able to experience the older version. The Pera of that time appeared prominently in my novel A Present Danger.

Back in Norway. Thinking about the wonderful days at Pera Palace Hotel last weekend. Paulo Coelho's St. Joseph's Party was great, and the hotel such a great place to keep the party. Also a short trip away from Hagia Sofia, the Blue Mosque and the Egyptian Obelisk / Hippodrome. I was living a dream, and the dream is lingering on...

It's hard to believe that we actually stayed in the Ataturk Suite just before it was turned into a museum. We were only in Istanbul for one night - certainly a night that we will well remember.

My wife and I loved the experience at your hotel. All staff were very polite, from the PR lady who welcomed us until the Asst. Executive Chef whom we met at the Agatha Restaurant on Sunday morning. We loved the bed, the décor and furniture, and the beautiful bath. The spa was great and the breakfast, delicious.
We will not only recommend it but also –İnşallah- come back soon.

We revisited the Pera Palace 10 September and were absolutely delighted at the restoration. The staff were so helpful and seemed genuinely interested that we had visited in 1976. We took tea in the bar - so elegant. And Yes! the wonderful old elevator is still there and is everything we remember. Thanks for bringing back so many memories.

When I came to Istanbul,the Pera Palace was being restored and I didn't manage to visit it.I promised my daughter to come together and stay there.It's a dream come true,it's a promise,it's a must.I look forward to visiting PERA PALACE.Congratulations for the good job and many wishes! We stayed at the Pera Palace in 1976 and the experience was wonderful. So disappointed to find the hotel closed when we visited Istanbul last year (2009). We are visiting again in September 2010, so we really hope that the deadline is met so that we can re-live our dear memories.

I would like to say how pleased I am to find out that the Pera Palace is actually opening this year. Have missed staying there whilst in Istanbul last year and hope to be booking a stay as soon as possible once it has opened.

In 1998 we stayed for a week in a suite in what was a character laden but in need of restoration hotel. We are excited to see that the hotel is being restored to its former glory and hope to return to beautiful Istanbul some time soon.
